Housing

There is no on-campus housing at Bunker Hill Community College, but our students take advantage of a variety of housing options. Most students find apartments off campus, either by themselves or with roommates. Apartments tend to be less expensive outside the city, and you can easily commute to campus on public transportation.

Tips for finding housing:

Before committing to long term housing, you may want to stay with a host family or at a youth hostel until you are able to find an apartment.
Make sure you read (and completely understand) the lease agreement before you sign it.
You can consider renting an apartment outside of Boston. Use the Subway Map to help you locate the towns and areas surrounding Boston. Housing tends to be less expensive outside of Boston and you can easily commute to Bunker Hill by public transportation. For subway and buses maps and schedules please check the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) website.
If you see an apartment that is interesting to you, contact the person posting the apartment right away to make arrangements to see it. If you like the apartment, be prepared to pay the deposit, first and last months’ rent immediately.
Do not sign a lease and do not pay anything without seeing the apartment. You must inspect the actual apartment you will be renting. For important information please see the Renting in Massachusetts website.
For temporary or short-term housing, please use online services such as Airbnb, Expedia, Hotels.com, or Kayak.
