Artist’s Reception for “Mostly @ Sea”

At a reception for German Pérez—known as the Caribbean Chagall—on September 21, guests savored an evening of art and conversation on the Charlestown Campus as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Perez is the husband of Maria Hinojosa, who spoke about racial inequality at BHCC on March 3, 2016, as part of the College’s Women’s History Month celebration.

¡Inspirate! Unlocking Silent Histories

Fresh from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, educator and filmmaker Donna DeGennaro, Ph.D. presented ¡Inspirate!, Unlocking Silent Histories, on September 27 at the Chelsea Campus. She discussed her work with youth in Guatemala and how the films she creates cross generations, preserve traditions and amplify Hispanic voices.
