Hybrid Dental Assisting Technician Program with Clinical Externship

Prepare to become a Dental Assistant. This hybrid course allows you to take the "classroom" portion remotely via pre-recorded and live webinar sessions. Students will be assigned to a clinical setting at a later date and upon completion of the training. Students who take an online course should be self-motivated and have access to the internet.

Upon registration, students will be mailed their textbook and a free laptop. Students may begin the online course once they've received their materials. The online portion of the course is approximately 120 hours and most students will complete their certification in 8-16 weeks. Labs will take place at a later date once the College resumes face-to-face classes or students will be assigned an externship placement. On-campus lab dates are dependent on the number of students registered.

Course Start Date Although it is scheduled to begin in June 2020, you may begin the online portion of the course as soon as you receive your book and laptop in the mail.

If you enroll in the online option today, you can start within a week and not have to wait until the listed start date cited above.

Number of Weeks: 8-16 weeks, based on how quickly you complete the course.

Contact Hours (Online portion with homework): 120 hours

Lab Hours: Once the college resumes face-to-face classes AND there are enough students who registered for this course, you will have lab at the college. In the event that you do not have lab, you will be assigned an externship placement.

Option to Pay for the Dental Assisting Program in Two Installments

You have the option to pay for the Dental Assisting program in two installments if you cannot pay the full price of the course. To take advantage of this, you would need to initially register and pay for NON-900E-SNOA (Part 1), at $650. Then, on or before July 1, you would register and pay for SNOB (Part 2), at $649. You must register for both sections SN0A and SN0B to benefit. If you do not register for both, you will not be able to get your certificate. The two courses that you need to register for are:

Choose this section if you need to purchase this program in two installments.  Register for NON-900E-SN0A first. Then on or before July 1, you will need to register for NON-900E-SN0B. Dental Assisting Program with Clinical ExternshipNON-900E

This program familiarizes students with all areas of pre-clinical dental assisting and provide training in the professional skills required to function as an assistant in the dental practice. Topics include: history of dentistry and dental assisting; introduction to the dental office; the legal aspects of dentistry; policies and guidelines. 60 classroom hours + 40 clinical externship.
