 Update on Stage 1

In the first stage, a limited number of students and faculty return to campus to make up lab courses in allied health and career/technical education that were cancelled in spring.  These are hands-on courses that cannot be delivered remotely, and are taking place at the Charlestown and Chelsea campuses.  Make-up labs begin June 15, and will be held throughout the summer.  Nearly 400 students will participate in these labs.  The following measures were added to protect the health and safety of students and faculty during Stage 1.

CHARLESTOWN CAMPUS

Authorized for Return to Campus

Faculty, staff and enrolled students for scheduled labs in Medical Imaging, Sonography, Medical Lab. Tech., Culinary, Workforce Devel.

Social Distancing

  • Entry only in G-Building, nearest to labs.
  • Wayfinding signage to direct students to labs and away from closed areas.
  • Face coverings issued at entry as needed.
  • Surgical masks issued to all students for health labs.
  • Number of students per lab session reduced to maintain distancing.
  • Every other sink covered and stall closed in bathrooms.

Hygiene Protocols

  • Vending machines taken out of operation.

Staffing and Operations

  • Sign-in and -out to track all students and faculty on campus, and encourage prompt exit after class.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • Cleaning between sessions for lab areas with two sessions in same day

CHELSEA CAMPUS

Authorized for Return to Campus

Faculty, staff and enrolled students for scheduled labs in Paramedic/EMT, Pharmacy Tech., Surgical Tech., Allied Health

Social Distancing

  • Security checkpoint at building entrance.
  • Only one person at a time allowed in elevator.  Distancing floor markings near elevator.
  • Face coverings issued at entry as needed.
  • Surgical masks issued to all students for health labs.
  • Number of students per lab session reduced to maintain distancing.
  • Every other sink covered and stall closed in bathrooms.

Hygiene Protocols

  • No-touch hand sanitizer units added.

Staffing and Operations
