What is Commencement?
Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates the completion or anticipated completion of degree requirements. Graduation is the actual completion of all degree requirements and is recorded on the official transcript. Participation in the commencement ceremony does not imply that you have officially graduated.
Commencement is May 26, 2022.
Thursday, May 26 at 11 a.m. on the BHCC campus—our first on-campus commencement in two years!
Attendence will be for graduating students only, no guests. The event will be livestreamed for all to enjoy.
Submitting proof of the COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for students to be eligible to come to the BHCC campus. For graduates who would like to attend commencement in person but have yet to submit their proof of completion of the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement, please do so on the COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement webpage. Graduates, please be sure to complete the vaccine requirement by May 12th, 2022, if you have not completed and submitted your documentation proof already. For those graduates who do not complete the vaccination requirement, they will be able to tune in and watch the event livestream.

Students, who successfully complete program requirements by graduation date and who have submitted a graduation application, received communication from Academic Records that they are eligible to graduate.

Students who have 2 courses or fewer to complete in the summer must register for summer classes and submit the summer graduation application by the end of the day on April 30, if they want to participate in Commencement. The Academic Records Office will review the student’s record and send a communication to the student’s BHCC email when the review is complete.
The diploma will be mailed to the address that was included on the graduation application. An email will be sent to students’ BHCC email address when the final review of their account is completed. The email will include the date when the diploma will be mailed. *As long as your graduation application remains active, you can change the address listed. If you have questions about changing the address where your diploma will be mailed, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once you are cleared to participate in Commencement, you will receive an email to order your regalia (cap and gown). BHCC will cover the cost of the regalia. This is our Commencement gift to you. Emails to order your cap & gown will be sent starting the week of May 12.
Graduates will receive a link to order Caps and Gowns starting the week of May 12. Graduates will have until May 16 to order, to give time to ship graduation packages to their mailing address before May 26. This excludes any packages to be shipped outside of the United States. You must be cleared for graduation to receive Cap and Gown reservation through your BHCC email.
