Course Spotlight: Introduction to Big Data

This course provides an introduction to big data and the Data Analytics Lifecycle to address business challenges that leverage big data. The focus is on questions more than answers. “The course is about looking at data in a new way and learning how to think critically about why things are the way they are,” says Assistant Professor Michael D. Harris, who teaches the course. Students discuss current, real-world events and learn about various tools and methods to apply critical analysis to their findings.
