This session addresses social situations students may encounter and offers safe methods of intervention that promote pro-social behavior. Bystander Training is a community-based approach that teaches safe methods for bystanders to prevent and respond to situations without jeopardizing their safety. Many behaviors that become sexual harassment, sexual assault, hazing and bullying often begin as low-level remarks or scenarios which, if we had the skills, we could manage differently and hopefully avoid future problems. The more you know, the better prepared you will be to respond in a safe and responsible manner. This session is open to everyone and lasts approximately 90 minutes. All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. Sessions are scheduled for: Thursday, February 25 at 1 pm or Wednesday, March 3 at 12:30 pm.
