Join us for an evening of unique and innovative storytelling, featuring short theatre works by BHCC faculty about the experience of our pandemic lives, generations of love and loss, and the ability of art and artist to live beyond time, distance and history.
Including two filmed works by Adjunct Professor Donna Sorbello, Performing Arts, about adults negotiating happiness and an uncertain future on Zoom—Loretta and Will and On the QT, which appeared recently at Boston Theatre Marathon. Followed by a live reading of the short play Two Stories, also by D. Sorbello.
And a staged reading of Thanking Judy, by Professor Michael Dubson, English Department, about the funeral of Judy Garland on the eve of the Stonewall Riots, as a group of men summon her spirit in a séance to thank her for her contribution to the Gay Rights Movement. Originally staged by Boston's Theatre Offensive, Boston Center for the Arts.
A Question and Answer session will follow after the performances by playwrights and actors, including Lovely Hoffmann, Richard Leonard, Bill Mootos, Donna Sorbello and others.
Remarks by Kevin Wery, College Events and Cultural Planning
