Be inspired by the lived experiences of women working on the frontlines of history to bring healing medical treatment and access to wellness to those in their communities of practice. BHCC Professor Rebecca Allyene-Holtzclaw will present on the illustrious career of Rebecca Davis Lee Crumpler (1835-1895), the first African American woman doctor in the United States. Dr. Cheryl Scott, renowned for her work on the AIDS pandemic worldwide, will discuss pathways to medical and wellness careers for women. Be inspired by Emergency Room attending physician Dr. Tamara Beckford about real life challenges she faced, her experience in medical school, and how she shaped these experiences into a successful telemedicine practice. Finally, author and wellness expert Katie Boyd will discuss her journey from training beauty queens, to reality television star, to building an intentional wellness community for women. Her presentation will include a sound healing for women everywhere.
