(Recommended for students with 30-60 credits and who have attended the Transfer 101 Workshop) Are you getting close to graduating? This workshop will focus on the final two stages of transferring: Applying and Deciding. Topics that will be covered include: applying to four-year colleges and making informed decisions on which colleges to attend, requesting letters of recommendations, writing your transfer essays, and using the Common Application.

Join BHCC Transfer Advisors on tours of four-year colleges. Get ready to visit Merrimack College and Salem State University to uncover their incredible offerings for students. Dive into a world of opportunities as you learn about admissions, majors, transfer credits, financial aid, scholarships, student activities, and the vibrant student life on these campuses.

Departing BHCC at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 4th and returning by 4 p.m., the day kicks off with a tour and complimentary lunch at Merrimack College, followed by an visit to Salem State University.

Each year, BHCC students are accepted to some of the most selective colleges in the nation. But to get accepted, students need to take steps to challenge themselves and strategically plan. Students who maintain high academic achievement are encouraged to apply to selective institutions. This workshop will focus on the first two stages of transferring - Planning and Exploring - with emphasis on increasing your competitiveness for admissions. Topics will include searching for colleges, scholarships, co-curricular involvement, networking, and college transfer essays.

We encourage students to include highly selective colleges in their list of colleges. Because of the selectivity, it is not unusual for these colleges to have more application requirements than transfer partners. In this workshop, we will focus on the final two stages of transferring - Applying and Deciding - with emphasis on what to include in your applications to make them stand out. Topics that will be covered include: transfer essay questions, letters of recommendation, framing your achievements and experience, and other methods to advocate for your application.
