Culture Shock with Ms. Teela Foxworth

Join us for an evening discussion with Ms. Foxworth as she discusses consideration that students should be aware of before going abroad and establishment tools to process culture shock. In this presentation, Foxworth will discuss culture shock for first-time students traveling abroad. We will overview the different stages of culture shock and Foxworth will provide helpful suggestions and tips on how to healthily process the mental, emotional and physical changes that come with going abroad. Teela Foxworth is a seasoned educator and has spent 12 years in the community and university collegiate setting as both an instructor and a Department Chair. Foxworth was the 2017 recipient of NISOD’s National Teaching Award for her work in planning, executing and taking a group of students on a faculty-led program to study Intercultural Communication in Peru. She is a small business owner, travel enthusiast and enjoys reading in her free time.
