Eventually, she earned a Master of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Hartford, where she discovered her interest in genetic counseling. Following her graduation, Julie began her career as a genetic counselor assistant at Cleveland Clinic. This experience fueled her passion, leading her to apply for genetic counseling programs. Ultimately accepted into the University of Michigan Genetic Counseling Program, a prestigious two-year master’s degree program, she briefly worked in clinical settings before realizing her preference for industry work. Julie now serves as a Genomic Variant Scientist for the Variant Investigation team at Quest Diagnostics.
