Mexican American composer, singer, and voice instructor Mari Esabel Valverde will discuss her cultural background, the importance of learning and singing in Spanish, and the implications of her work as a minoritized composer of choral and vocal music. She will also describe her creative process and share her vision for new Spanish language vocal music. This event will include time for Q&A.
