START SMART ORIENTATION

Congratulations on your acceptance to BHCC!

START SMART ORIENTATION is a 5 hour, on-campus, interactive program designed for newly accepted students (new to college, transferring into BHCC from another college or university, and students readmitted to BHCC following an absence).

At START SMART ORIENTATION you will:

• Participate in an academic overview to begin your college career at Bunker Hill;
• Tour the campus and meet our Orientation Mentors;
• Learn about our exciting Learning Community options for students; and
• Meet with an academic advisor, choose fall courses and be cleared for registration.

Advanced registration for a Start Smart Orientation is required and you must either have taken the College Placement Tests or arrive at your session with a copy of any transcripts.

There are three types of sessions, please register for the appropriate session:

• New Students – for students who are new to College. If you have never attended any college or university, this is the session for you.
• Transfer/Readmitted – if you have attended another college or university or if you have attended BHCC in the past, this is the session for you.
• ESL (English as a Second Language) – if you will be taking ESL courses in the fall at BHCC this is the session for you. If you placed into non-ESL course work, this is not the correct session for you.

Parking on campus is extremely limited; all students are encouraged to arrive by public transportation. The College is located at the Community College stop on the Orange Line. Students who drive to campus, may park in Lot 1 (Student Parking).
