New International Student Enrollment Checklist

GET READY

From home any time

  • Access your acceptance letter to find your BHCC ID and username. Your password is the last six digits of your BHCC student ID. Use your username and password to log in to your BHCC email and your myBHCC account.
  • Get ready for your placement test. If you are required to test, review practice materials.
  • If you have earned college credits in the US, submit an official transcript. If you have completed college credits from an institution outside of the United States, submit an official course-by-course evaluation of your university transcripts. Unofficial transcripts can be used for advising and registration purposes until your credits have been evaluated.

On Campus

  • If you are required to, but have not yet done so, complete College Placement Testing.
  • Attend New Student Orientation
    • Attend an Advising & Registration Session after testing or with a copy of your unofficial transcript. You’ll meet with an advisor and register for classes.
    • Then attend a New Student Day. Bring your fall class schedule and valid government-issued photo ID so you can get your BHCC Student ID.
    • International students must attend a mandatory immigration check-in offered every Friday starting on December 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM in E-451. Please bring your I-20 and passport with you.
  • Be ready to pay for your courses at the time of the registration:
    • Submit a third party commitment or sponsorship letter, or a purchase order to the Student Payment Office; or
    • Pay via international wire transfer. If you choose this option, you must start the process before leaving your country. Please contact the International Center as soon as you get started with the online payment.
  • You must purchase BHCC-sponsored student health insurance. International Students who are covered by insurance carriers outside the U.S. and by foreign National Health Service programs are deemed not to have coverage comparable to coverage under a qualifying student health insurance program and cannot waive the health insurance provided by the College. To read more, visit bhcc.edu/healthinsurance.
  • Submit proof of immunization to Student Central Office.
  • Keep in mind International Students (F-1 Visa holders) must enroll for a minimum of 12 credits per semester and are eligible to enroll for only one Web-based course per semester.
