How do I Begin?
- Check to see if an internship is required for your major. If yes, be sure to consult with your faculty advisor.
- Think about organizations, companies, or public sector opportunities where you want to intern. Check the D Lounge or your departmental bulletin boards for ideas.
- Identify 3 major learning objectives for your internship.
- Search current opportunities in the Internship Handbook located in Career Services, Room M101. Many more internships can also be found at the website links below.
- Brush up your resume. Attend a Resume workshop or make an appointment with Career Services.
- Make an appointment with the Internship Coordinator to help identify, prepare, apply, and interview!

To Qualify
- Earn a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Students are usually required to work a minimum of 10 hours a week for 12 weeks.
- Meet specific internship requirements that may ask for additional qualifications, courses, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

Academic Credit
If an internship is not a Required course for your major, ask the Internship Coordinator about eligibility for credit or Honors options.

An internship is considered part of a student's total educational process. While some internships may be paid, it is not intended to be a primary source of income for students.
