ESL099: ACADEMIC WRITING III
(English as a Second Language)

This advanced course focuses on the academic writing skills necessary for content courses. Students continue to develop their abilities with sentence structure, paragraph writing, and essay writing. Students write paragraphs and essays from personal experiences and from readings. Students learn to cite sources and answer essay questions from readings. Students learn grammar in the context of the readings and student generated writing. Students must complete the course with a grade of C or better in order to take ESL courses.
Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in all ESL level II courses or ESL placement test.
