Two-year old magazine brings home top honors from the
National Council for Marketing and Public Relations
Boston, April 3, 2008 – Bunker Hill Community College gets the gold. During a gathering of community college representatives from around the country, Bunker Hill Community College was awarded the first place trophy for BHCC Magazine a publication that was launched only two years ago. The award was presented by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) at its annual conference in Savannah, GA.
The College also received two bronze awards for design in the Poster 2 category and the Computer-Generated Illustration division. This year, more than 80 judges from across the United States reviewed over 2,050 entries in NCMPR’s competition which recognizes excellence in communication exclusively among two-year colleges.
BHCC has been recognized by NCMPR in the past with gold awards for its Academic Catalog, Special Event Collateral and a Middle East Conference Brochure. BHCC received the silver award from NCMPR for its Academic Catalog, College Viewbook, College Website, Course Schedule Brochure, and its Scholarships and Awards Brochure. Bunker Hill has also brought home bronze awards from NCMPR for its College Banners, its Academic Catalog and its Transforming Brochure.
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and PR professionals at community, technical and junior colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR today has more than 1,550 members from more than 600 colleges across the United States, Canada and Bahamas.
Bunker Hill Community College is the largest community college in Massachusetts, enrolling more than 8,800 students on two campuses and at five satellite locations. BHCC is one of the most diverse institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth. Six in ten students are people of color and more than half of BHCC’s students are women. The College also enrolls more than 600 international students who come from more than 95 countries and speak 75 different languages.
