2008-07-08 - Business Owners Invited to Discuss New Center for Entrepreneurship at Bunker Hill Community College

Boston, June 8, 2008 – Entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to attend an informal gathering at Bunker Hill Community College from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, to discuss a new Community Center for Entrepreneurship that will be launched by the College this fall. The Center will offer courses, programs and events to promote business growth, with a particular emphasis on Charlestown and Chelsea, homes to the College’s two campuses.

“In this competitive economy, business owners and entrepreneurs require access to new ideas and training if their enterprises are to succeed. This new Community Center for Entrepreneurship expands BHCC’s commitment to that work,” said Bogusia Wojciechowska, Dean of Professional Studies. “This first event is a chance for networking and for us to hear what services will most benefit the businesses in our communities.”

Cabot Creamery is sponsor of the July 22 event, to be held in the A300 Lounge at the BHCC Charlestown Campus, 250 New Rutherford Avenue, Charlestown. All entrepreneurs and business owners are invited to attend. BHCC is seeking individuals to join an advisory committee that will help develop Center programs. The Coleman Foundation and the John E. & Jeanne T. Hughes Foundation are among the funders of the new Center. Support will also be provided through the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 and the Boston Advanced Technological Education Connections (BATEC), a regional system of technical education for workforce development. To RSVP for the event and to join the Center mailing list, please e-mail cce@bhcc.mass.edu or call 617-228-2498.
