Technical Requirements

Technical Requirements to take BHCConline courses:

• Multimedia computer with at least a 600 MHz processor, 128 MB of RAM, or a comparable Macintosh is required. Macintosh computers may not be used for CIT-110, MAT-095 or MAT-195.

• A recent version of Microsoft Office is recommended. Note: Attachments should be sent as Microsoft Word documents.

• Access to the Internet with at least a 56k connection, although broadband is recommended.

• Browser requirements: Internet Explorer 6.0, Netscape 7x, or Mozilla Firefox 1.0x are recommended.

• An e-mail account with sufficient storage capacity for messages. Note: Spam filters and firewalls may prevent you from receiving automated responses. Please add the domain “@bhcc.mass.edu” to your safe list.

• Access to a printer.

Students who do not have access to a computer at home may use computers on campus. Computers are available on the Charlestown campus in the Center for Self-Directed Learning (room E225) or Academic Computing (room D111).
