Learning Specialist-Mathematics, Center for Self-Directed Learning

Department: Center for Self-Directed Learning

Location: Charlestown

Reports To: Director of Center for Self-Directed Learning

Responsibilities:: Instructional facilitator assisting students taking self-paced courses in Mathematics. Develops course curricula, previews and prepares instructional materials, assigns grades and provides instruction and content tutoring for students, responsible for the continuous monitoring of student progress; maintains records and prepares reports; acts as a liaison with academic departments. Must be able to work one evening a week from 1:00p.m. -9:p.m.

Requirements: Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Education, Mathematics, or closely related field; with one year of experience that includes course facilitation and/or teaching and course/curriculum development. Ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population. Knowledge of the self-paced model of teaching and learning preferred. Experience in a community college preferred.
