The College Connection is an academic and intrusive advising support service available to students enrolled in sections of RDG 090, RDG 095 and ENG 090. Some classes have a dedicated Literacy Coach who visits the class on a regular basis and provides individualized tutoring outside of class time. The coach follows up with absent students, connects students to appropriate college resources, and provides advising services. Coaches rely on professor input and support to best serve their students. The goal of the program is to improve the retention, pass rates, and reading levels of students enrolled in developmental reading and writing classes, as well as to prepare students to meet college expectations.
