Q: How long will this program take to complete?
A: The Hospitality Degree programs (Hotel-Restaurant and Travel-Tourism Management) can be completed in 2 years- if a student attends full-time. Some of our students however attend part-time and generally complete it in approximately 3 years.

Q: When are the courses offered for this program?

A: The Hospitality Management program is comprised of core courses in Hospitality or Travel-Tourism. These courses, for the most part are offered during the day. There are a few courses offered in the evenings. General Education requirements are offered days, weekends, and evenings

Q: Can I do this program online? At night? During day? Weekends?

A: At this time, only general concentration courses are being offered online. The general education courses required for this program are offered days, weekends and evenings.

Q: When does this program start? Fall? Spring? Anytime?

A: Most students enter in the Fall, however if a student wishes to begin the program in the Spring or Summer, it is possible.  They will be advised  as to which courses to register for by a member of the department.

Q: Is this program accredited?

A: Yes, under the College’s NEASC accreditation.

Q: How do I get into this program?
A: You would apply through enrollment services, by filling out the necessary paperwork. You would then we advised to take the required placement tests for math, reading, and English.

Q: What kinds of jobs can I get with this degree/certificate?
A:  Jobs obtainable with a degree in Hospitality are: Hotel front desk positions, entry-level management positions, careers within the airline and travel industry, concierge positions, event managers, and a multitude of other positions in the Hospitality area.

Q: How much money does someone make doing that?

A:  Entry: $28,000-$32,000.00
With additional experience: $35,000.00- $150,000.00

Q: How easy will it be for me to get a job?

A: Employers are in immediate need of applicants for a variety of positions in the Hotel- Restaurant Industry.

Q: Will someone help me find a job when I am done?

A: The career center at the college, as well as the Hospitality department will assist you in writing a resume, interviewing  skills, and obtaining an internship. At graduation, they will also assist students with job placement if necessary.

Q: Can I transfer to a 4 year college with this degree?
A: Yes. You should check with the transfer office at the particular college you are interested in to see what their requirements are.

Q: Are there any articulation agreements etc?
A:  Yes.

Q: Will I be a junior when I transfer?

A: Possibly.

A: You need to check with individual colleges for their policies.

A: Internship

A: Yes

A: Depending on their area of study, students will take courses in Travel - Tourism or Hotel-Restaurant Management, as well as General Education requirements.
