Overview

Program ID - CT.AHPHL

This program prepares students to perform blood collection by venipuncture and introduces them to basic laboratory techniques as well as EKG.

Career Outlook:
Graduates of this program qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, chronic care facilities, health maintenance organizations, and physicians’ offices as multi-skilled workers and phlebotomy technicians.

Upon completetion of this program graduates will be able to:

  • Perform blood collection by venipuncture.
  • Perform basic computer skills and EKG processes.

Program Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED certification.
  • Attendance at information session, individual program application and interview with program staff.
  • Complete college placement tests in reading, math, and English.
  • Health insurance, completion of health form, and completion of CORI.
