INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OPTION - 2009
Computer Information Technology Program
(Associate in Science Degrees):

This program prepares students with entry-level skills in various computer concentrations. Students take the required core courses as well as a cluster of courses in a specific concentration. Students choose elective courses from relevant disciplines within the college. Graduates of this program qualify for entry-level positions in businesses and work environments that rely on network functions.

Overview

Program ID -

This program is designed to meet the needs of our Information Technology students who wish to pursue a Baccalaureate Degree. This program will allow our students to move seamlessly to colleges offering Baccalaureate Degrees in Information Technology. This program provides a core foundation in the major pillars of information technology and will allow a student to concentrate in one of the areas before transferring.

Career Outlook:
Graduates of this program can transfer to bachelor’s programs at four-year colleges.

Upon completetion of this option graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the major pillars of Information Technology.
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve technical programs and to apply critical thinking principles to Information Technology issues.
  • Demonstrate an upper level understanding of networking, programming, database, or other technology fields.

 Note: Students testing out of College Algebra (MAT195) will be required to take an additional elective. Students entering UMB through the College of Management may choose to complete the Calculus for Management Sciences course at UMB and therefore should take an elective at BHCC.
