The Practical Nursing program pinned 30 students on July 14 at 6 p.m. in the Gym. Jeremiah L. Williams, Associate Dean of Nurse Education and Medical Imaging, spoke. James F. Canniff, Provost and Vice President, Academic and Student Affairs, also spoke. Associate Professor, Nurse Education Department Allison J. Belmonte, who is also the Interim Program Director, Practical Nursing Program, gave students this definition of a nurse: “To go above and beyond the call of duty. The first to work and the last to leave. The heart and soul of caring. A unique soul who will pass through your life for a minute and impact it for an eternity. An empowered individual whom you may meet for only a 12-hour period, but who will put you and yours above theirs.” Student Brenda Kelly spoke.
