BHCC Volunteer Teams Info Session: Volunteer Interpreters Program with Boston Housing Authority
Boston Housing Authority (BHA) provides affordable housing to low income families. Our families are diverse racially, culturally, and linguistically, and often are newcomers who speak limited English.
The Volunteer Interpreters Program (VIP) is a capacity building initiative that recruits and trains bilingual/multilingual individuals from local colleges and communities to become interpreters, helping families access housing services.
Volunteers like you can greatly help build BHA’s language resources which now include 30 languages! Volunteer interpreters may assist in person or over the phone, at BHA eligibility interviews, community meetings, administrative appeals, public hearings, etc.
Prospective volunteers must attend a training session. BHA is located at 52 Chauncy Street Boston MA 02111. For more information, contact Zulma Hernandez at LanguageAccessTeam@bostonhousing.org
