About the Early Childhood Educators Scholarship

The Early Childhood Educators (ECE) Scholarship application for the 2010-2011 academic year is now available on the Office of Student Financial Assistance website at: http://www.osfa.mass.edu/default.asp?page=eceScholarship.  The priority deadline for the application is now June 1, 2010.   Students are also required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to be eligible for the scholarship.
The objective of the Early Childhood Educators Scholarship is to increase the quality and availability of teachers and care providers to work with young children in inclusive settings including infant/toddler, preschool and child care programs. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance for currently employed early childhood educators and providers who enroll in an associate or bachelor degree program in Early Childhood Education or related programs.

The Early Childhood Educators Scholarship is awarded on a first come basis.  Applications received after the June 1, 2010 priority date will be considered on the basis of available funds.  For more information, please refer to EE&C’s Frequently Asked Questions found on the application’s and EEC’s website, or contact Jean Szymaniak, Program Assistant, at 617.727.9420, ext. 1314 or via e-mail:  jszymaniak@osfa.mass.edu or Katie DeVita, Professional Development Specialist, at Katie.DeVita@state.ma.us
