9/24/09 - The Building Careers in ECE coordinator at BHCC, Rita Rzezuski, is currently recruiting eligible participants for ENG111 “College Writing I” and ECE111 “Special Needs Child in ECE” courses this fall.  ENG111 starts Tuesday October 6, 2009, 6:15pm – 9:15pm; and ECE111 starts Saturday October 24, 2009, 9am – 12pm.  If you believe you meet the teacher eligibility criteria for either or both courses, please contact Rita at RRzezuski@RCN.com.

12/18/08 – Although the EE&C scholarship application deadline was in October 1, 2008, the EE&C Department is still accepting 2008 - 2009 scholarship applications.  Please visit the scholarship section on this site to learn how you can apply

5/6/2008 – The Early Childhood Educators scholarship application will become available between May 15, 2008 and July 1, 2008.  The ECE scholarship is not income based, but the Federal Student Aid is.  You need to complete the FAFSA form first.  The scholarship provides financial assistance for currently employed early childhood educators and providers who enroll in an associate or bachelor degree program in Early Education or related programs.  Make sure you get the FAFSA application in as soon as possible.  The priority deadline was May 1, 2008.

You can use the scholarship monies to take other courses not offered through BHCCs’ Building Careers program. You can not use scholarship monies to take any Building Careers courses being offered during the semester for which you are planning to take classes.  For additional information on how to apply for the Scholarship, click here.
