What We Will Do...

Mary L. Fifiel This report speaks for itself, but it doesnÍt tell the whole story. In January 1999, noted business, government, education and community leaders joined college faculty, staff and student representatives for a two-day Future Search conference. Our agenda was ambitious. We sought to transform Bunker Hill Community College. We identified ten college goals to guide us over the next three years and created accompanying action plans for the first twelve months. Highlights of what has been accomplished are presented within this report. Most significantly, we did what we set out to do. Capitalizing on the historic strengths of our institution and with the direct involvement of dedicated people from the college and from our communities, we made changes in almost everything - from how our campuses look to how we do business.

We have made a good start but there is more to do. A preview of academic year 2000 - 2001 priorities relating to our ten goals is contained in this report as well. We anticipate that these initiatives also will be successfully completed with the continued support of so many like you who care about our college. To each of you who has contributed and continues to support our efforts, I convey heartfelt appreciation.
