BHCC will build and strengthen partnerships with business and industry, community organizations and educational institutions to support student opportunities, ensure skilled workers and engage civically minded community members. Collaborated with the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce to assess the training needs of its member businesses; provided aggregate results to the members, as well as individualized needs assessments and customized training plans. Increased the number of internship sites to 129, covering a wide range of industries including publishing, healthcare, government, finance, social services, technology, hospitality, and non-profit activities. Forged new Clinical Affiliation Agreements between the Nurse Education Department and seven healthcare agencies, to provide comprehensive clinical experiences for nursing students. Four of these agencies employ BHCC Nurse Education graduates from the Class of 2003. Provided customized skills training to more than 1,050 workers at 24 different companies, including New Balance, Fleet Financial, Kayem Foods, and Cambridge Health Alliance. Conducted two training programs to provide key information to immigrants, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition: “The ABC’s of Immigration and Access to Benefits” and “Naturalization Training.” |
