BHCC will develop dynamic curricula and innovative teaching and learning methods that are competency-based, incorporate state-of-the-art technology and are responsive to workforce needs and diverse populations. Developed a new Medical Coding certificate program — the first of its kind at BHCC — in partnership with Dana Farber Cancer Institute, to provide a career ladder for current hospital and healthcare employees. Revamped the Criminal Justice Department curriculum, earning recognition from the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education as an approved Quinn Bill college, authorized to enroll members of the police force. Established a comprehensive Teaching and Learning Center to promote faculty and staff professional development, support innovative new approaches to education, and strengthen student success. Earned a $100,000 renewable grant from the Fleet Foundation, awarded to the Allied Health Program for its Career Ladder Initiative. The Initiative provides education, training, and counseling through Brigham and Women’s Hospital and WorkSource Staffing Partnership, Inc., to help entry-level workers obtain higherlevel jobs. |
