 BHCC
will build and stengthen partnerships with business and industry,
community organizations and educational institutions to support
student opportunities, ensure skilled workers and engage
civically minded community members.
- The College's Workforce Development Center will collaborate
with the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce to provide customized
training assessment instruments for use by regional businesses and will
stand
ready to address members' training needs.
- Corporate and public sector partners will be recruited and cultivated to provide internships, externships, entry-level employment, funding, job training and other opportunities.
- The College’s Workforce Development Center will expand its client base to target the manufacturing, information technology, biotechnology and high technology industries.
- To increase the quality, flexibility and effectiveness of its workforce education programs, the Workforce Development Center will offer a unique blend of web-based and traditional instruction in its newly established state-of-the-art learning center - the ACT Center.
- The College will collaborate with the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition to provide training for immigrant populations on topics such as the naturalization process, post September 11 changes in immigration
laws and benefits eligibility.
