Bunker Hill Community College will continue to value the diversity of our communities, to demonstrate cultural competence, and to increase diversity in staff and student populations.

Diversity and inclusion increase the quality of our students' educational experiences and the professional experiences of our faculty and staff. Bunker Hill Community College affirms that diversity and inclusion are integral components of its policies, procedures, programs, activities, and curricula. To underscore our commitment, we will:

  • establish the position of Director of Diversity and Inclusion reporting directly to the college President. The Director will develop and coordinate a college-wide effort to promote inclusion while addressing issues such as language, cultural differences, gender, race, sexual orientation and disability;.
  • develop programs to ensure that all members of the college community are valued, respected, and included, regardless of differences;
  • expand recruitment efforts to ensure that under served populations, especially the large immigrant population of the Greater Boston area, are served; and
  • aggressively recruit underrepresented faculty and staff and monitor applicant pools for diversity.
