  • CAR serves adults with disabilities, primarily psychiatric disabilities and LD
  • SEE model program (Services for Education and Employment)
  • Provides clients assistance with obtaining and maintaining jobs, education and training in the community. 
  • Career exploration, job preparation, job searching, education linking and job maintenance services.

Status or Documentation Needed to Access Services: Referrals need to come through the Department of Mental Health, the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, the Department of Transitional Assistance, or through self-pay.

Cost of services: Free if referral from one of the above agencies.

Description of Program/Services Provided:

  • Toll-free hotline to report suspected abuse of a disabled person. 

The criteria require that the victim of the alleged abuse must:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 59 years
  • Be disabled by means of mental illness, mental retardation or physical impairment
  • Require the assistance of a caretaker to accomplish daily living needs as a result of the disability

 

To establish jurisdiction the Hotline staff must also examine the nature of the incident.  M.G.L. c. 19C and the DPPC regulations 118 CMR require that the incident must:

  • Involve an individual with a disability
  • Include an act or omission by a caretaker
  • Result in a serious physical or emotional injury

  • Academic and socio-emotional support for adults with LD & ADD/ADHD
  • Range of services including one-to-one tutorials, weekly group meetings, and Saturday Seminars.

Status or Documentation Needed to Access Services: Students under 22 must be enrolled at Curry College. Over age 22 can enroll if students elsewhere. Must apply to program. Recent WAIS-III and achievement test scores needed. Tests can be administered at Curry’s EDC or elsewhere. Must have a documented LD or ADD/ADHD.

Cost of services: $1650 - $2650 per semester, depending on program options selected.
